Bengmontero cattery
My name is Tatiana. The cattery was registered in 2012 and is now in its fourteenth year. Two breeds, two registries — WCF and ICU — and only our own breeding cats.
The cattery is closed and selective: we do show, our adults have breeding evaluations and Champion titles, but I stop there — my work goes into the health and type of my own lines. Every breeding cat is tested for hereditary mutations, and the most promising kittens, unless I keep them, are neutered before sale — that is easier on them and on you.

We have titles, we don’t chase them
Our adult breeding cats earn breeding evaluations and titles, and we are showing again this autumn. But I close a Champion title and stop there: going on to International Champion and beyond means years on the road for a line in a pedigree. That energy goes into the health of our lines and an honest, orderly sale.
Genetic tests
All breeding cats are tested for the hereditary mutations of their breed. Results are on each cat’s page, and copies go home with the kitten.
Kitten papers
Pedigree certificate or registry pedigree, veterinary passport with vaccinations and treatments, microchip.
Contract
Reservation with a deposit agreement, handover with a sales contract. Everything in writing, in electronic form.
They come back for a second
Most new buyers come recommended by owners of my kittens, and many take a second one.

A kitten lives fifteen years, and the decision is usually made in one evening. Here are answers to what I am asked every day — read them in advance, at your own pace.
All guidesWhat comes with the kitten?
The club pedigree certificate, a veterinary passport with vaccination stickers, the microchip number, a sales contract and copies of the parents’ genetic tests. Plus food for the first days and the litter the kitten is used to.
The owner exchanges the certificate for a full pedigree at around one year — I will explain how to do it through the club.
Do you test the parents for hereditary diseases?
Yes, all breeding cats. For Maine Coons that is HCM, SMA and PK-Def; for Bengals PRA-b and PK-Def; adult hearts are checked by echocardiography.
I show the laboratory reports before purchase, and copies go home with the kitten. A carrier is only ever paired with a cat clear of that gene, so no affected kittens are born.
Why does a cattery kitten cost more than one from a classifieds site?
Because almost everything is paid for before the kitten is born: the breeding cats, genetic tests, club fees and litter registration. Then premium food, two vaccinations, parasite treatments, a microchip and papers.
A cheap kitten means something on that list was skipped. Most often the tests and the age of handover — and the difference comes back as vet bills.
Bengal or Maine Coon — which one to choose?
In short: a Maine Coon is bigger and calmer, but needs brushing and takes longer to grow up. A Bengal is smaller and sheds very little, but needs play every evening and height in the flat.
If nobody is home for ten hours a day, a Maine Coon copes with that more easily.
At what age does a kitten go to its new home?
After the second vaccination, usually at three months. By then the kitten eats on its own, uses the litter box reliably, and is used to the scratching post and to being handled.
I do not let kittens go at two months: that is too early both for immunity and for the psyche — such kittens fall ill more often in a new home.
I live far away. Can I see the kitten without travelling?
Yes, we can do a video call in any messenger. I will show the kitten moving, its parents, the room where the kittens live, and the papers. Usually the same day, in the evening.
The call is free and carries no obligation.
How does the reservation work, and what if I change my mind?
Reservation with a deposit agreement, handover with a sales contract. Everything in writing, in electronic form.
Until the deposit is paid you are not bound by anything: looking, asking and going away to think is perfectly normal. The refund terms for the deposit are written in the agreement, and we discuss them before signing.
